Cover Version...er...Monday

Just to test out Rapidshare, here's Davy Graham covering "Moanin'" by Art Blakey. I remember thinking that the riff sounded very familiar when I heard the Art Blakey album a couple of years ago...took me until this weekend to twig that I'd heard it many times before, buried on Folk, Blues & Beyond.

Hot damn, Rapidshare is ugly. Be advised that you click through two screens before the download will start. It is fast though - it took me only about 20 seconds to download.

Anna here....it's a fast download - once you can get to it. The problem I've found with Rapidshare is that if you don't want to pony up for the premium account - you have to wait awhile between downloads - can't recall how long, though - but it could be an issue with online TOADs. Otherwise, it works pretty well.

By the way - I haven't been able to post much at all lately, but count me in at the future blog.

On Rapidshare you can download a certain amount of Megs per hour, in the basic account. For a single track there's not much delay; for a zipped TOAD, for example, or a single CD, you'd wait around 60-100 minutes between downloads. I don't think that's too bad -- how many TOADS will people be wanting to download a day? One/two a month is more than we've handled so far.

Yeah, some companies/govt depts have a blanket ban on such sites. Here at work it's faster than FTP so we use it to receive large DTP files from our packagers so it's actively encouraged at the mo.
